Carlos Montufar

As a relationship banker, Carlos Montufar assists clients in identifying their specific financial needs and provides comprehensive advice to help them achieve their financial wellness goals. He works closely with experts across Alerus to ensure every client has access to its full suite of diversified services to meet their needs.
Carlos joined Alerus in September 2022 through its merger with Metro Phoenix Bank. Prior to joining the financial industry in 2021, he spent 20 years working in the Alhambra, Phoenix Elementary, and Madison School Districts as a reading tutor, English Language Learner testing assistant, Head Start preschool teacher, and assisting in classrooms for children with special needs.
Carlos is also a professional flamenco dancer and is the founder and CEO of Phoenix World Arts Collective, a Phoenix-based nonprofit focused on bringing the art of flamenco to communities through performances and workshops hosted by flamenco dancers from around the world. He was recognized in 2018 as a nominee for the Mayor’s Arts Awards, which identifies artists for outstanding leadership in the Phoenix community.
