Katie Lorenson Named One of Twin Cities Business’ Notable Leaders in Finance

MINNEAPOLIS (April 13, 2021) – Alerus is pleased to announce Twin Cities Business magazine has named Katie Lorenson, Alerus’ chief financial officer, one of its 2021 Notable Leaders in Finance. The award recognizes individuals in C-suite or senior-level finance roles in Minnesota who have proven their ability to create significant, positive, and measurable results in their field.

Since joining the company in late 2017, Lorenson has had a profound impact at Alerus. She spearheaded the process for filing Alerus’ registration for a proposed initial public offering, which resulted in the company’s launch on NASDAQ in September 2019. In 2020, she ensured Alerus exceeded performance expectations and led negotiations in the acquisition of Retirement Planning Services, Inc. The purchase, completed in December 2020, increased Alerus’ assets under administration/management to approximately $31.5 billion.

Lorenson is a seasoned executive who has held management roles in the financial industry for nearly 20 years. She has extensive experience overseeing financial service organizations, having served as chief financial officer for multiple organizations. She is based in Minneapolis.
