Dan Schrader joins Alerus as Chief Credit Officer

Alerus is pleased to announce Dan Schrader has joined the company as chief credit officer. In this role, Dan is responsible for developing and enhancing Alerus’ lending policies to support a solutions-oriented credit culture while maintaining disciplined risk management. He also leads the credit team and chairs the bank’s loan committee, providing credit leadership across diverse business lines and markets.

Dan has nearly 20 years of experience, with extensive expertise in leadership and credit. Before joining Alerus, he served as the managing director of corporate banking and head of portfolio management at Dacotah Bank. Prior to that, he spent 15 years with BMO, including seven years as vice president of commercial banking in Minnesota and head of portfolio management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and management from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

In his free time, Dan enjoys traveling, running, and watching his children’s sporting activities. He is based in Minnetonka, Minnesota.
