Alerus wealth advisors voted best in Grand Forks

Kari Vien, a senior wealth advisor at Alerus, was recently voted the best financial advisor in Grand Forks as part of the Grand Forks Herald’s 2026 Best of the Best contest. Anna Larson, also a senior wealth advisor at Alerus, was voted a finalist.
Vien and Larson bring extensive experience to their roles and specialize in helping clients achieve their long-term financial goals through personalized wealth management strategies.
Vien joined Alerus in 2009 and has nearly 20 years of financial services experience. She is a Chartered Financial Consultant and holds Series 7 and Series 66 securities registrations. She is also licensed for life, health, annuity and accident insurance in North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, Arizona, and Florida. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of North Dakota.
Larson joined Alerus in 2021 and has more than 10 years of financial services experience. She is a Certified Private Wealth Advisor and Retirement Income Certified Professional and holds Series 7 and Series 66 securities registrations. She is licensed for life, health, and annuity insurance in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Florida. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Concordia College.
The annual Best of the Best contest recognizes local businesses and professionals who stand out in their industries. Community members submit nominations, and the top five nominees in each category advance to the final ballot. Winners are determined by public vote and tabulated by an independent third party.
