Alerus Wealth Advisor Chris Moen earns Certified Financial Planner certification

Alerus is pleased to announce that Grand Forks-based wealth advisor Chris Moen has earned the Certified Financial Planner certification. This certification recognizes his financial planning expertise and commitment to serving clients in their best interests.

To earn CFP certification, advisors must complete comprehensive financial planning coursework and pass a rigorous exam, in addition to demonstrating their skills as a financial planner in a real-world setting for at least 6,000 hours, holding a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, and adhering to the organization’s ethics requirements.

Chris joined Alerus in July 2015 and has more than 20 years of experience in financial services. In addition to the CFP certification, he is a Certified Retirement Counselor. He also holds series 7 and 66 securities licenses and a bachelor’s degree in business, with a focus on entrepreneurship, from the University of North Dakota. Chris is active in his community and frequently volunteers his expertise and time to local organizations. He currently serves as board president for Spectra Health, treasurer for Hope Church, and is a board member for the North Dakota Small Business Development Center.
