Alerus names Tommy Olson to lead Arizona, Wisconsin banking

Alerus is pleased to announce Tommy Olson has been named chief executive officer and head of corporate banking in Arizona and Wisconsin.

In this role, Tommy will oversee teams in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona, as well as Milwaukee and Pewaukee, Wisconsin. He will also lead strategic planning and business development activities in each market.

A seasoned financial industry leader, Tommy brings more than 15 years of experience and a strong track record of leading teams to exceed goals. He holds a credit risk certification from the Risk Management Association and has deep expertise in corporate finance and strategic partnerships. His extensive experience includes serving clients in specialty areas including family office, manufacturing, and aviation.

Before joining Alerus, Tommy served as the corporate banking executive for Wisconsin at Old National Bank, focusing on the Milwaukee, Madison, and Fox Valley markets. He holds a master’s degree in financial analysis from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee – Lubar College of Business, a master’s degree in applied economics from Marquette University, and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin River Falls. He also completed the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
