Alerus’ Karin Taylor Recognized as Top Woman in Finance

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (Nov. 20, 2020) – Alerus is pleased to announce Karin Taylor, executive vice president and chief risk officer, has been named a Top Woman in Finance by Finance & Commerce. The award recognizes Minnesota women who are making an impact in their professions and in their communities. Karin has three decades of experience in the financial industry and has specialized in risk management for more than 15 years. She joined Alerus in 2018 as chief risk officer, where she is responsible for the oversight and administration of Alerus’ enterprise risk management functions across all areas of the organization, including banking, mortgage, wealth management and retirement and benefits administration. She also oversees all credit and spearheaded the company’s business continuity planning in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

A true leader in her profession, Karin also mentors young financial professionals, informally and through formalized guidance programs. She currently serves on the Minnesota Bankers Association Insurance Services, Inc. board of directors. She has previously served as a strategic topic project advisor for the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado and mentor for students participating in Minnesota-based nonprofit BestPrep.
