Which services will be impacted prior to launch?

Online and mobile banking services will be temporarily unavailable beginning at 5 p.m. CT Friday, November 14, 2025, through Sunday, November 16 while accounts are transitioned to the new digital banking platform. Debit card access will not be affected. You can continue to make purchases and withdraw cash from ATMs as usual. 

Digital banking services will resume on the new platform on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 8 a.m. CT. At that time, you can log into your account at alerus.com > My Alerus or through the new Alerus Banking app. See the “Logging In” section for details about how to log in. 

When will I notice changes to online and mobile banking?

Your account(s) will be transitioned to the new online banking platform on November 17, 2025. At that time, you will notice a new look and feel to online banking. You will choose a new menu option – My Alerus – to log in online. You will also need to download a new app – Alerus Banking. Your current app will no longer work.

Is the routing number or my account number(s) changing?

No. Alerus’ routing number is not changing. Your account number(s) are also not changing.

Will I need to do anything on Monday, November 17?

Yes, you will need to download the new Alerus Banking app.

You will also choose a new menu option to log into your online account. Go to alerus.com and choose My Alerus from the drop-down menu to log in.

Logging In

How do I log into my account?

ONLINE

Starting November 17, select My Alerus from the drop-down menu to log into online banking. Home Federal Banking will no longer be available on the drop-down menu.

  • Go to alerus.com -> Log In -> My Alerus -> Go.
  • Log in using your existing username; follow the prompts to reset your password.

MOBILE

Starting November 17, you will use the new Alerus Banking app. The Alerus formerly Home Federal app will no longer work.

  • Delete the Alerus formerly Home Federal mobile app
  • Download the new Alerus Banking app

Is my username or password changing?

Your username is not changing, but you will be prompted to reset your password the first time you log into the new online/mobile platform.

What if I forgot my username or password?

For online banking, click “forgot username” or “forgot password” to reset.

For mobile banking, click log in, then click “forgot username” or “forgot password” to reset.

 

Mobile App

 

Do I need to download a new banking app?

Yes. On November 17, you will need to use the new Alerus Banking app. The Alerus formerly Home Federal app will no longer work. Follow these steps to install the new app.

Or search for “Alerus Banking” on the App Store or Google Play. Note: Alerus has a suite of mobile apps. Use the links above to ensure you’re downloading the right app. If you search your app store, make sure you choose the Alerus app named “Alerus Banking.” 

Step 2: Log in using the same username and password you established after your initial log-in at alerus.com > My Alerus

To enable Face ID, click the Enable Face ID option at the bottom of the screen before logging in, and confirm your choice by clicking Enable Face ID after successfully entering your existing credentials.

Step 3: Choose “allow notifications” when prompted if you would like to receive push notifications related to your account. You can manage these notifications based on your preferences.

Step 4: Delete the Alerus formerly Home Federal app from your device. It is no longer needed.

 

Can I still use mobile deposits?

Yes. The mobile app allows you to do a submit a mobile deposit by taking photos of the front and back of the check. Click Deposit Check in the bottom navigation bar or go to Menu, Transfers & Payments, and choose Deposit a Check to make a mobile deposit.

Can I access Bill Pay through mobile banking?

Yes. You will continue to have the ability to send payments from your mobile device.

Can I still use the Alerus formerly Home Federal app?

No, the Alerus formerly Home Federal app will no longer be valid beginning November 17. Delete the app and download the new Alerus Banking app to conduct mobile banking.

My Alerus

What is My Alerus?

My Alerus is a personalized hub you can use to track all your financials. Available as part of your new online banking experience and as a stand-alone mobile app, My Alerus enables you to view all your accounts at Alerus, as well as your accounts at other financial institutions in one place (deposit accounts, retirement accounts, loans, etc.) to provide you with your full financial picture. It also provides interactive financial workouts to help you plan and track your savings, manage your debt, plan for retirement, and more.

How do I get the My Alerus mobile app?

How do I log in to the My Alerus app?

Use the same username and password that you use for digital banking.

Digital Banking Features and Services

Do I need to reset my account alerts?

Your account alerts will transfer to the new system, but you are encouraged to review the new account alert options and ensure your preferred alerts are set.

In online banking, click Profile (located in the top panel on the home screen), and choose Alert Settings. On the mobile app, click Menu in the lower right corner of the screen, then select Profile and choose Alert Settings.

Do I need to re-establish my recurring external transfers/transfers to accounts outside of Alerus?

No. Previously scheduled recurring transfers to external accounts will be carried over to the new system and processed as normal.

Do I need to re-establish my recurring internal transfers/transfers to other Alerus accounts or bill payments?

No. Any internal transactions (e.g. recurring transfers to Alerus accounts, bill payments) previously scheduled will be carried over to the new system and processed as normal.

How do I make a one-time payment from my Alerus checking/savings account to my Alerus loan or line of credit?

In online banking, click the Loan Payment button in the Payments tile on the home screen or select Transfers & Payments (top navigation bar), then select Loan Payment.  In the mobile app, click the Loan Payment button on the home screen.

Will I have access to my statement history?

Yes. You will continue to have access to statement history as usual.

Is Bill Pay changing?

No. You will continue to have access to Bill Pay as you do today.

Will I have access to Zelle®?

Yes! This upgrade provides access to Zelle® for person-to-person payments.

How do I view account details?

Click on the account to view transactions and account details.

Can I change the order in which accounts are displayed on the home screen?

Yes! Click View All Accounts, then click the three dots located on the right side of the account that you would like to move. Select move account up or move account down to adjust the display order. You can also click and drag the account to your desired location by clicking the dots located to the left of the account.

How can I select which accounts to display on the home screen?

Click View All Accounts, then click the star located on the left side of the account to add or remove it from your favorites. You can display up to six accounts as your favorite accounts on the home screen.

Why can’t I see all my accounts when I log in?

Your home screen allows a limited number of accounts to be displayed as favorites. Click View All Accounts, then click the star located on the left side of the account you want to show on the home screen.

How do I connect my account to QuickBooks online/Express Web Connect?

Search for Alerus and choose “Alerus” from the results.

How do I connect my account to the desktop version of QuickBooks or Quicken?

Search for Alerus and choose “Alerus” from the results.
