Popmoney® Makes Personal Payments Easy

Life Moves Fast. Your Money Should, Too.

Looking for a fast, easy way to send money to family, friends, or anyone you know? Sure, you could mail a check, but then your recipient has to watch for it in the mail and take time out to deposit it.

Here’s a better option: use our Popmoney® personal payments service, available through online banking. All you need is the recipient’s name and their email address or mobile phone number. It’s easy, and at only $0.35 per payment, it costs less than a postage stamp.

Getting Started
To use Popmoney, you’ll need to enroll in online banking, then activate Bill Pay (which is free). While Bill Pay activation is required, you do not need to set up any payments in order use use Popmoney. 

To set up Bill Pay, log in to online banking, select Pay Bills, then accept the terms and conditions.

How to Send Money

  1. Select the name of your recipient or enter the name of a new recipient.
  2. If entering a new recipient, provide their email address, mobile phone number, or bank account information.
  3. Enter the amount of money to send, the date you want to send it, and the account you want to send it from.
    - certain limits apply, including limits on dollar amount and number of transactions in a given time period. To see your current limits, simply click "View Limits" next to the Amount field.
  4. Click Continue. You will then see a screen displaying the details of your payment. If everything is correct, click Send Payment.

What Does the Recipient See?
Your recipient will be notified based on whether you entered their email address, mobile number, or account information:

  • Email Address: your contact will receive an email with instructions on how to direct the payment into his or her account. 
  • Mobile Number: a text message will be sent to the recipient on your behalf with instructions on how to direct the payment into his or her account. 
  • Account Information (routing and account number): the money will be deposited directly into your contact's account. No action required by recipient. 

When Does the Money Arrive?

Standard Delivery - 3 Business Days

The recipient should receive the money within 3 business days when: 

  • You provided their bank account information and
  • The person has used Popmoney before and has automatic deposits turned on.

If you send money via email address or mobile number, the recipient should receive the money within three business days from the time he/she follows the instructions contained in the email or text message.


Express Delivery - Next Business Day

If you choose express delivery:

  • Your contact will receive the money the next business day, provided you're sending money to someone who has used Popmoney before or if you have provided your contact's bank account information. 
  • If you send money via email address or mobile number, your recipient should receive the money within one business day from the time he/she follows the instructions contained in the email or text message.
