Mark Hall Set to Retire From Alerus

Alerus | JUN 16, 2017

Mark Hall Calls it a Career

Grand Forks native and longtime financial industry professional Mark Hall will retire from Alerus, effective June 30.  An open house will be held on June 27 from 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. on the first floor of the Alerus Corporate Center in downtown Grand Forks.

Hall, a University of North Dakota graduate, spent the first several years of his career in health care administration, pivoting to the financial industry in the mid-1970s. Hall’s banking career began at First Bank System, where he worked for 16 years before departing in 1991 to join Alerus (then known as First National Bank North Dakota).

His tenure with Alerus began in the trust department, and he went on to graduate from the National Trust School at Northwestern University. But the bulk of his time with the company was in the role of relationship manager, a position in which he worked with businesses and individuals around the Red River Valley, helping them make the most of their financial opportunities. Hall became known for his passion, knowledge, and devotion to clients, which led to many long-term relationships that included many of the area’s most well-recognized companies.

“Mark dedicated his career to improving the financial lives of his customers,” said Chris Wolf, northern valley market president for Alerus. “He accomplished so much during his time here, and he will be greatly missed. We wish Mark nothing but the best in retirement.”

Active in the community throughout his life, Hall is a founding board member of the Community Foundation Grand Forks/East Grand Forks & Region and has served as the organization’s treasurer and president. He is a community board member of Altru Health System; past president of Medical Park Corporation; past president and board member of Grand Forks Foundation for Education; secretary-treasurer and board member of Pedersen Lutheran Foundation; and member of UND Champions Club.
